Over the pass

The view over the pass is stunning, but far more importantly,almost exactly what I hoped for, as to the right you can see the west coast of the island Meganisi (ancient Taphos) where the cave of the Naiads is situated. Odysseus couldn't have missed it and neither did I.

It never sat right with me, though, so in October 2018 I returned to the pass and walked along the path you can see on the left of the panorama to get a better view. To my joy and relief, after a short while the bay of Vlycho came into sight.

Unfortunately, the view to the left didn't quite live up to expectations, as there was no harbour of Phorkys in sight. You can almost see as far as Lefkada sound, so for the time being I settled on that as my harbour of the old man of the sea.

This made a far more satisfactory harbour of the old man of the sea, Phorkys, as the bay, which is close to the popular coastal resort of Nidri, is used to anchor many ships without mooring right up to this day and age.
